This Christmas the Bedlam Cube is again proving to be one of
the hottest gifts to give someone…but be warned it could
be a present for life! The Mind bending Puzzle has almost 20,000
different solutions - yet hardly anyone has been able to solve
it!
The 3-D Tetris Style Cube Puzzle – sold out last year
after it appeared on the BBC 2 Business programme ‘Dragons
Den’. Since then the product has become an instant hit
and is now available at most of the high street retailers and
many on-line gift & gadget websites.
Despite selling almost 200,000 Bedlam cubes in just 18 months
…only just over 200 people have come forward and proved
that they have solved it…which is about 1 person in every
1,000 bedlam cubes sold. This is quite incredible when you consider
that there are 19,186 different ways to put the 13 different
geometric pieces back into a 4 x 4 x 4 cube.
The Bedlam Puzzles company which sells the Bedlam Cube…has
now launched the Bedlam Cube Solution of its 3-D Brain Teasing
Puzzle. This has proved a fantastic success and already thousands
have been sold in just a few weeks. Many people have bought
it for those who already have one and can’t solve it!
The Bedlam Cube was also this year’s official product
to be associated with today’s global Guinness Worlds Records
Day last Thursday, November the 9th.
Danny Bamping, 32 and the Entrepreneur behind the Bedlam Puzzle
Company set the record at Hamleys Toy Store in front of a large
crowd of people; his time of 11.03 was the fastest time set
on the day. Other Puzzle experts flocked to toy shops in countries
including Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Brazil and Estonia.
So far it has yet to be beaten.
Last Christmas, every retailer who stocked the Bedlam Cube
– sold out. This year the company has secured deals with
some of the UK’s largest retailers including WHSMITH,
John Lewis, Debenhams, Argos, HMV, Harrods and Tescos. Many
Toy and Gift shops throughout the UK are now stocking the cube
range. Globally it is available in 17 different European countries,
Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
The Bedlam Cube has no packaging and the wooden versions are
made from Sustainable Rubber-wood. The Cube is different every
time its attempted and helps increase peoples spatial awareness,
its addictive and appeals to all cultures and ages (they even
do a Pink one!) The only company car is a Toyota Prius.

The Bedlam Cube History:
Plymouth-based entrepreneur Danny Bamping famously appeared
on the 2005 series of Dragons’ Den with his Bedlam Puzzle
Company and had the dragons fighting over each other to invest.
After some clever negotiations Bamping initially accepted a
deal on camera for £100,000 in exchange for 30 per cent
of his company to two of the Dragons – (Theo & Rachel)
after a brief period of due diligence Danny changed his mind,
opted to go it alone and funded his Bedlam dream with a bank
loan. Earlier this year, he was named 28 in the top 50 Entrepreneurs
in Britain.
Just a few weeks ago the Company was named ‘Business
of the Year’ in the Enterprising Plymouth Awards. Recently
Danny has also been short listed as Entrepreneur of the Industry
in the British Promotional and Marketing Association Awards,
the company has also been short listed for Best Newcomer and
most Innovative Product – his corporate clients this year
include; BP, O2, Saab, GMTV & Bolton Wanderers Football
club. This Thursday he will be in London attending the BPMA
Christmas lunch and Awards Ceremony.
