IT’S BEDLAM AT THE TOY FAIR!
The Bedlam® Cube – the new puzzle craze sweeping the
nation and a total sell out at Christmas, will this week be one
of the main attractions at this week’s London Toy Fair at
Excel in the docklands.
After being successful on the BBC’s ‘Dragons Den’
series in late November; sales of the Bedlam Cube were ‘Bedlam
itself’ and it completely ran out of stock right across
the country within weeks! Now new supplies have arrived and are
still fast flying off the shelves and from the websites that stock
it!
The new 3-D puzzle cube is now ready to create Bedlam on a global
scale, as the entrepreneur behind the company is planning to take
it global in 2006. Danny Bamping, the Devon based entrepreneur
who runs The Bedlam Puzzle Company stated;
“From the response we have had in the UK & Europe
over the last year – its time to let the rest of the world
to have a go! We are looking forward to exhibiting at the Toy
Fairs in London, Germany & New York over the next few weeks.
After we launched exclusively at FAO Schwarz on 5th Ave just
before Christmas and completely sold out in just 36 hours –
I knew there was a huge market and demand for The Bedlam cube
in the US and beyond! – It’s a true global product
and the ultimate personal challenge for anyone who attempts it!”
“I’m satisfied that I made the right choice in
not taking the Dragons money offered to me on the show; the company
has already repaid a lot of the loan from the bank and is in a
very healthy position and is growing rapidly.”
The puzzle now is fast earning cult status as ‘harder and
more addictive than any other 3-D puzzle in the world!’
Despite many, many thousands being in circulation already –
so far only 97 people have come forward and claimed to have solved
the cube, which has exactly 19,186 different correct solutions.
The 3-D Puzzle cube is claimed to be educational and can help
improve people’s spatial awareness and hand-eye co-ordination.
Some schools have now introduced the Bedlam cube into the classroom
as it provides a series of problem solving situations that the
children find both challenging and rewarding. So far the response
has been very positive and some teachers claiming it helps improve
concentration levels.

play value of anything ever before, and one where players compete
on an equal level! – which means anyone can do it!, You
often get so close to solving the Bedlam cube that you just don’t
want to put it down, it’s very addictive and has been compared
to playing an endless game of 3-D Tetris which everyone can play!"

Not many pitchers on the Dragons Den manage to secure investment.
Even fewer manage to prise money from the Dragons’ grasp,
only to then turn them down after the cameras have stopped rolling.
But then again, not many entrepreneurs are Danny Bamping. After
persuading Rachel Elnaugh and Theo Paphitis to part with £100,000
to fund his Bedlam Cube, Bamping decided to keep his stake in
the business, while cannily raising the profile of his fiendish
puzzle, by accepting a bank loan instead. Bedlam would be found
in toy store Hamleys; had it not completely sold out at Christmas.
