Whoopee it’s
Bedlam in Plymouth!
Press Release 26/05/2005

This weekend a new 3-D Puzzle – The Bedlam Cube will be
launched at the Plymouth Toy Store ‘Whoopee’ on Royal
Parade. As a special treat to shoppers on Saturday its Inventor
Bruce Bedlam will be there to demonstrate the puzzle and exclusively
sign Bedlam cubes for shoppers between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday
afternoon.
Bruce Bedlam – the cubes inventor and who lived in Plymouth
for over 20 years said; “It’s great for the Bedlam
Cube to be back in Plymouth – it’s been the home of
the product for many years and indeed still is! Danny’s
done a fantastic job since he bought the company and the products
we now have are fantastic – it’s selling really, really
well. Whoopee is a fantastic Toy Shop for Plymouth and I’m
sure it will soon become a best seller!”
"When I invented the Bedlam Cube, I wanted a puzzle with
the best play value than of anything ever before, and this is
it. It’s sure to become a massive hit in 2005 and is now
available in 5 funky colour schemes! – including a new wooden
version – available for Father’s Day!”
Mutley based Danny Bamping, the entrepreneur behind the Bedlam
puzzle company, said: "People have compared playing the Bedlam
cube to an endless game of 3-D Tetris, hence why it is so addictive
and appeals to all ages! The last few months have been fantastic
and the product is really selling well where-ever it goes. Even
though there are 19,186 different ways of solving the cube –
so far only 45 people have come forward and claimed to have solved
it.”
“We realise not everyone will be able to make it to the
Whoopee store this weekend – and Bruce’s time is limited
– but we he be able to sign a lot of cubes and anyone living
in Plymouth can automatically get a 10% discount when ordering
a signed cube from our website!” he added
Initial trials have shown that people of all ages are fascinated
by the puzzle and have caught the “Bedlam Bug”. Players
often get so close to solving the puzzle that they just don’t
want to put it down. All you need to do is fit the thirteen pieces
back into its box. Puzzle experts are claiming it to be ‘The
next Rubik’ – whose 25 year anniversary is this year!
However in Hamleys last Christmas Bedlam outsold the Rubik by
5 cubes to 1! With thousands of cubes sold already, the Bedlam
Cube is becoming one of the must have toys for 2005.
The Bedlam Cube is also available on the internet through its
website www.bedlamcube.com. It goes on general sale this summer
and is likely to be a big hit this coming Christmas. To reserve
